Rosy Loach
One of our favorite species in our fish room. Extremely manageable size for smaller nano style setups though they do appreciate some swimming space as they are highly active. Matures males only display the vibrant rosy color they are known for, females are paler with spotted striping.

Description
The Rosy Loach (Petruichthys sp. “Tuberoschistura arakanensis”), is a nano-sized member of the loach/botia family indigenous to Myanmar and Thailand. In addition to its very attractive appearance, this beautiful loach is also highly desired due to its extremely active and outgoing personality as well as its relative adaptability. This is a very rare species and it is one of the only traditionally-shaped loaches/botias that can be considered a “nano” fish that is appropriate for heavily-planted aquariums.
Acclimating fish:
- If received after 24-48 hours, slow drip acclimating fish to quarantine tank.
- If received after 2+ days, equalize water temp by floating bag. Try not to pour bag water into aquarium, drain over net externally and drop fish into quarantine tank.
